Audubon Community School District
NEW BUS BARN
To better support the transportation needs of the District, a new 7,800 square foot bus barn facility was constructed to replace the aging and undersized existing structure. The modern facility includes a dedicated mechanics bay for maintenance and repairs, a wash bay to improve fleet upkeep and extend vehicle life, and ample storage space for equipment and supplies. It also features electric charging infrastructure to support the District’s electric bus. With the capacity to store up to eight buses, the facility is designed for functionality, long-term durability, and operational efficiency. Construction was completed in the spring of 2025.
MEMORIAL BUS SHELTER
In a heartfelt tribute to long-time bus drivers Ted & Donna Hansen, the District built a new bus shelter on the east side of the elementary school. Ted Hansen retired in 2018 and passed away in November 2023. The project was a community effort, with staff and volunteers collaborating to make it a reality for the students.
ELECTRIC SCHOOL BUS
The District is going green with a new electric school bus, funded by a federal grant. The district also added a charging station at the new bus barn. The bus, which arrived in January 2024, runs daily routes and offers a cleaner, cost-effective alternative to diesel.
